SHAKESPEARE on SITE AUDITIONS

Come out Saturday, July 13, 12-2pm and audition for THE (MINI) TRAGEDIE OF MACBETH.

Directed by Maren Sugarman

Performances: Friday, September 13, 7:00pm;
Saturday, September 14, 12:30 & 3:00pm

Rehearsals start after July 21.
Schedule built around players as much as possible.
This is an hour-long version of Shakespeare’s play.
Nine actors play Twenty-eight characters!
All actors play MULTIPLE PARTS.
All actors participate in at least one sword fight.
All roles with the exception of Macbeth are open.

Prepared Shakespearean Monologue, Soliloquy or Sonnet encouraged but not required.
Script excerpts will be available at the audition, for cold reading.
There is a Basic Fight Choreography portion for the audition (think dance audition, but with swords instead of fancy steps)
We are looking for VERSATILE actors who love to dive into challenging theatre!
We are used to “baptizing” Shakespeare novices!

[Please Note: This is a violent and bloody play. Fake blood will be used, and people are maimed and killed onstage (including a “child”). Full disclosure.]
